A Bemidji State University student is in the hospital after being found unresponsive and with wet clothing, outside in cold weather.

In a news release, the Bemidji Police Department says 19-year-old Hannah Rolschau of Zimmerman was discovered around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, after authorities got a report of a woman lying in the snow.

First responders arrived to find Rolschau unresponsive, but breathing. Her clothes were wet, and there was evidence she'd been outside for "a substantial period of time," police say.

The temperature hovered in the mid-20s throughout the overnight period leading into Sunday morning, according to Weather Underground.

Police say alcohol may have been a factor. The Bemidji Police Department is investigating.

Rolschau was taken to Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji.

The Bemidji Pioneer reports. she is a sophomore at BSU, majoring in education.

She was found on the 1600 block of Calihan Avenue, about a block off the school's campus.

The family has reportedly asked the hospital to not release her condition.
