A 47-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after threatening staff with a weapon inside a Buffalo Wild Wings in Moorhead on Sunday night.

Moorhead Police Department says the incident occurred just after 7:30 p.m. at the Buffalo Wild Wings located at 2201 2nd Ave. N, when they were informed that a woman, identified as Jennifer Joan Thomas of Fargo, in the bar area of the restaurant was making suicidal comments and was in possession of a handgun.

Police say she also told Buffalo Wild Wings workers that everyone should evacuate the building, which management attempted to do. The first officer to arrive was informed that the woman was still inside and was "cornering staff."

Additional officers arrived and they were able to enter the building and arrest the suspect without incident. They also found that she had made the threats with a facsimile firearm, which is essentially a fake gun that looks like a real one.

The woman is being held at the Clay County Jail on charges of threats of violence, disorderly conduct, fourth-degree assault of a police officer, and possession of a facsimile firearm.

The investigation into the case is ongoing and more charges could be applied.
