Bullet holes found in hospital employee vehicles in northwest Minnesota

Police are investigating after bullet holes found in the vehicles of two hospital employees in northwest Minnesota over the weekend. 

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, a deputy heard what they believed to be two gunshots just before 1 a.m. Sunday on the east side of Fosston.

Deputies searched the area and around 4:45 a.m. staff from Essentia Health Hospital called police saying they'd found a bullet casing in the parking lot. 

Sheriff's deputies canvassed the area and found two vehicles in the parking lot with bullet holes, with both vehicles belonging to hospital employees.

Fortunately, nobody in the vehicles or around the parking lot when the shots were fired and authorities believe it was an isolated incident. 

Anyone with information related to the gunshots is asked to contact the Polk County Sheriff's Office at 218-281-0431. 

Fosston is located between Grand Forks and Bemidji along Hwy. 2.
