Standoff with armed man in Costco parking lot ends early Thursday in Burnsville

The standoff came to an end around 5 a.m. Thursday, with Burnsville police saying the incident was resolved peacefully. 

We'll update the story as more information becomes available.

Police in Burnsville are at the scene of an "active incident" in the parking lot of a Costco warehouse.

Burnsville PD says the incident is ongoing at Burnhaven and McAndrews.

Captain Jef Behnken told media that the incident started at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, when police received a report of a suicidal man with a gun in the Costco parking lot.

Negotiations between police and the man have been ongoing.

The Costco store has been evacuated as police attend the scene.
