A 14-year-old student in Chanhassen has been arrested for allegedly threatening to "shoot" one of his classmates.

The Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson said his office received a complaint of terroristic threats at 7:11 p.m. on Friday made by a 14-year-old boy who is in ninth-grade at Chanhassen High School.

Earlier in the day, he received an email from a fellow male classmate which read: "I'm going to shoot you."

Sheriff's deputies then searched the suspect's home in Victoria, Minnesota, in the early hours of Sunday morning, seizing two laptop computers, a smart phone and three firearms.

The teenager was arrested on suspicion of making terroristic threats and his case has been passed on to the Carver County Attorney's Office.

Anyone with information about the case should call Carver County Sheriff's Office on 952-361-1231.

It follows several recent cases in Minneapolis and St. Paul of weapons being found on high school campuses and being seized by authorities.
