A 25-year-old Chaska man is jailed in Hennepin County and facing a charge of felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly raping a woman in the bathroom of a Minneapolis strip club.

Jose Francisco Aplicano-Ramos is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at Spearmint Rhino nightclub, located on Hennepin Ave. in Minneapolis, around bar close on the morning of Feb. 2.

According to a criminal complaint, police met with the victim outside the club around 2:10 a.m. The woman said she was at the club with friends, and after a few drinks she began feeling ill. She went outside to smoke, at which point she was approached by Aplicano-Ramos.

She then went inside the club and immediately to a one-person bathroom. She locked the door and laid down by the toilet because she felt nauseas, the complaint states. A few minutes later, she told police that Aplicano-Ramos somehow got into the bathroom and was "telling her to breathe."

The victim asked him to leave the bathroom, at which point the complaint explains that Aplicano-Ramos grabbed her and raped her despite her repeatedly telling him to stop.

Aplicano-Ramos told police that he and the victim had consensual intercourse, although police wrote in the complaint that he "poses a danger to public safety."

According to the Star Tribune, Aplicano-Ramos was arrested the night of the incident and released two days later. The charging documents, which were filed Monday, show that a nationwide warrant for his arrest has been issued.
