A college instructor who has been charged with making threats towards his wife told police he'd been having sexual thoughts about boys.

Marcus Loken, 66, of Shoreview, turned himself in to the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department on Monday, telling police that he'd been having inappropriate thoughts about the boys who live across the street from him.

Loken, who the Forum News Service reports is a math instructor at Century College in White Bear Lake, told police that his wife had found him "hundreds of times" in front of his window naked and watching the children across the street.

He also told police that he'd abused his wife mentally over the years, and appeared to be in a mental health crisis as he spoke with officers, saying he'd been sleeping in his vehicle and didn't have anywhere else to go.

Loken's wife informed investigators she'd recently told her husband she'd be leaving him because of his behavior.

As recently as this past weekend, he threatened to kill her, saying: "I'm only here to make sure I kill you."

According to a criminal complaint, he'd made the same threat several times in the past few months, saying he "likes to watch her suffer."

His wife was "visibly shaken" as she spoke with deputies.

Loken has been placed on a health and welfare hold and is currently hospitalized, the complaint says. He's been charged with felony threats of violence.
