A Maple Grove woman is facing four criminal charges after allegedly causing a boat crash that seriously injured two children while she was over the drunk-driving limit.

Jordan Seitz, 34, was hosting a boating party for 10 of her daughter's friends on Eagle Lake on Saturday evening, and was pulling two rafts containing some of the children around 8:10 p.m.

"Seitz drove too close to shore and as she turned back towards the open water one of the rafts collided with a fixed dock," the Hennepin County Attorney's Office said.

"Two of the children were seriously injured and taken to the hospital."

One of the victims, a boy, suffered a fracture of his lumbar vertebra, a collection of fluid in his abdominal cavity, and a loss of consciousness. The other child injured, a girl, suffered a head wound.

Seitz gave a breath test reading of .10 after deputies detected alcohol on her breath, as well as watery and bloodshot eyes. The legal limit in Minnesota is .08.

She has been charged with two counts of criminal vehicular operation-gross negligence, and two counts of criminal vehicular operation-under the influence.
