Charges: White Earth man robbed, assaulted man with a hammer

A northwestern Minnesota man has been indicted in federal court, accused of robbing and assaulting a victim with a hammer in December 2019. 

Curtis Wayne Belland, 32, was indicted on one count of robbery, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury in connection to the Dec. 15, 2019, incident, the U.S. Attorney's Office said on July 8. 

According to the allegations, Belland, on the White Earth Indian Reservation, robbed and assaulted a victim with a hammer resulting in serious bodily injury.

Belland was arraigned on July 7.
