Charges: Hopkins woman was driving drunk with 2 kids in back seat

It was her second DWI offense in the last year.

A woman has been charged with drunken-driving after being found over-the-limit with two children in the backseat.

Jamyria Olson, 23, of Hopkins, was observed by police making a wide turn that pushed her onto the wrong side of the road at 11th Avenue South in Hopkins on Wednesday.

She ran a red light in the Dodge Durango and then proceeded to flee police, swerving between lanes and passing through several intersections before eventually pulling over on Westbrooke Way.

In the backseat of the car were two children aged 1 and 10, with the 1-year-old's child seat loose to the point the child could lean completely forward in the seat.

Olson's breath test at the station returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.17, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.

The criminal complaint against Olson notes that she was also convicted of driving while intoxicated on Oct. 30 last year.
