Child riding bike struck by motorist in Edina Monday

A child who was riding their bike was hit a motorist in Edina Monday evening. 

According to Edina Police Department, the child, whose age hasn't been released, was riding bike in the area of 59th Street West and Zenith Avenue South when they were struck around 6 p.m. 

The child was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center with unknown injuries. 

The driver of the car stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. 

"Our thoughts are with the child and their family," Edina Police Department tweeted.
