Authorities have safely located the three young children of the Shorewood woman accused of killing her boyfriend and storing his body in a freezer at their home, reports the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Jetaun Wheeler, 29, was charged Monday with killing her 58-year-old boyfriend Eddie Sole on Aug. 1, beating him up with a closet rod, wrapping him in plastic and duct tape and stuffing him into a freezer. Bail was set at $2 million.

On Monday afternoon, reported the Pioneer Press, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said that jailed murder defendant Jetaun Helen Wheeler had her children "in hiding" and that police were trying to find them to make sure they are safe.

Wheeler, a mother of three children believed to be 10, 8 and 7, was arrested last Thursday, but authorities didn’t know where her children were. On Tuesday, South Lake Minnetonka Police said the children were found and put in protective custody with Hennepin County Child Protection, according to the Strib.

The story's gruesome details have captured some noteworthy national attention, if you're a fan of the New York Post.

Meanwhile Fox 9 reports that Wheeler made her first court appearance on Tuesday, and the victim's family traveled from Chicago to be there.

"I don't want her to see the light of day again," Kecha Matthews, Sole's daughter, says, according to the station.
