A convenience store clerk was the victim of an attempted robbery at knifepoint by a trio of children.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office says the three boys entered the Minit Mart store in Luck, Wisconsin at 4:36 p.m. on Sunday to carry out the robbery.
The boys, aged 12, 13 and 16, had arrived at the store at 106 N State Hwy. 35 on snowmobiles.
They were unsuccessful however, as a citizen intervened and "disrupted the robbery attempt."
All three boys were taken into custody by police, with the 16 year old brought to Eau Claire Secure Detention.
The younger boys were released to their parents.
The Polk County Sheriff and Luck Police Department continue to investigate the crime.
