A series of overnight closures will happen on I-35W and I-94 this week in Minneapolis.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation say the closures from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will affect the two main freeways through the city.
The reasons for the closures are partly due to a shift in lanes as work continues on the I-35W/I-94 interchange project, as well as due to planned cleaning of the Lowry Hill tunnel.
Here's a look at the closures:
– I-35W closed southbound from I-94 to Hwy. 62 starting 10 p.m. Monday till 5 a.m. Tuesday.
– I-35W northbound closed from Hwy. 62 to I-94 starting 10 p.m. Tuesday till 5 a.m. Wednesday.
– I-94 Lowry Tunnel closed westbound starting 10 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday.
– I-94 Lowry Tunnel closed both ways from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday. Detour via Hennepin/Lyndale ramps.
The detours for I-35 will be marked via Hwy. 62, Hwy. 100 and I-394.
