If you're planning to travel this weekend, there are some pretty significant road closures to be aware of.
MnDOT says it will be closing down parts of I-94 in the west metro and Hwy. 62 in the south metro for planned construction work.
I-94 will be closed eastbound at the I-94/494/694 interchange in Woodbury, while the ramps to southbound I-694, eastbound I-94 and from eastbound I-94 to northbound I-694 will also be closed.
The closure will start at 8 p.m on Friday, with eastbound I-94 re-opening at 5 a.m. Monday.
The interchange is set for some major work as bridges are replaced and widened, new auxiliary lanes and buffer lanes are built, and a ramp is reconstructed.
Meanwhile in Edina, Hwy. 62 will be closing at the France Avenue exit between 10 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday.
This marks the start of significant work as the France Avenue bridge – used for access to Fairview Southdale hospital and the Southdale Center mall – is replaced.
The France Avenue bridge over Hwy. 62 will actually close until mid-June starting this Friday at 10 p.m., with drivers detoured via Xerxes Avenue or Valley View Road.
The ramp from France Avenue to westbound Hwy. 62 will close at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
