A coal train derailed in northern Minnesota, BNSF has confirmed.
The freight company says that 40 cars derailed near Brookston, Minnesota, around 11:30 a.m.
A BNSF spokeswoman told BMTN that its officers and crew were responding to the scene, and that there were no injuries.
WDIO reports that by mid-afternoon there were a few cars on their side next to the St. Louis River, with coal having spilled onto the ice.
