Construction worker dies while working inside Minnetonka water tower
Authorities are investigating what appears to be an accidental death of a construction worker at a water tower in Minnetonka on Friday.
Rescue crews from the Minnetonka Fire Department and Edina Technical Rescue Team responded to the Woodland Water Tower at 5604 Hathaway Lane just before 12:30 p.m., where a man working construction on the water tower required medical care.
The teams were able to reach the man inside the water tower, where they freed him from his harness. The responders, including a doctor from Hennepin County Medical Center, attempted to resuscitate the man for more than 30 minutes, but he died at the scene.
