A man tiling a field in central Minnesota died on Friday morning in a workplace accident.
The construction company employee was installing drainage tile in the field near 60th Street SW and 150th Avenue SW in Holland Township when the accident was reported just before noon.
The 31 year old was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. It's believed he may have been pinned between some heavy equipment.
The man's identity has not yet been release as his family is still being informed.
An autopsy will be carried out by the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office, while the incident is still under investigation by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office.
Workplace deaths occur in the construction industry more than any other. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration said 21.1 percent of the 4,693 private industry workplace deaths in 2016 happened in the construction industry.
Construction worker deaths are most commonly caused by falling, being struck by an object, electrocution or being caught-in/between machinery.
