Coon Rapids police tribute to officer who died unexpectedly
Coon Rapids Police Department is mourning the death of a long-serving officer who passed away "unexpectedly."
The department posted on its social media page that Officer Greg Koss was at his home on Monday when he died.
He had worked for the department for 31 years as a patrol officer, field training officer, firearms instructor, and a narcotics detective.
"This is a tremendous loss to the law enforcement community, and Greg will always be remembered for his welcoming personality, positive attitude and gentle smile," the police department said.
"Rest in Peace Greg, thank you for your service."
Among those paying tribute is Anoka County Toward Zero Deaths, which posted: "
Today, Coon Rapids PD lost a phenomenal officer and a great friend to all.
"R.I.P. Officer Greg Koss, you will always be remembered and never forgotten. Thank you for your service and dedication."
