Coon Rapids woman killed in crash near Chisago City

The crash happened on Hwy. 8 at approximately 4:35 p.m.

A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Chisago County on Thursday afternoon. 

The crash, according to the Minnesota State Patrol, happened around 4:35 p.m. on Hwy. 8 near 275th Street in Chisago City. A man driving a 2004 GMC Sierra was traveling eastbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a westbound 2012 Ford Focus. 

The driver of the Ford Focus, identified by the state patrol as Shannon Marie Vandeveer, 35, of Coon Rapids, did not survive the crash. 

A 75-year-old Lindstrom man was driving the GMC Sierra. He was transported to Regions Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Road conditions were dry at the time of the crash and alcohol was not a factor.
