Cottage View Drive-In to show final movie Saturday night
Although the Cottage View Drive-In hosted a big goodbye party recently, the venue will officially show its last movie Saturday night after 46 years in business, WCCO-TV reported.
Friday night's show had fans lining up outside of the drive-in, KARE-TV reported. The Cottage View is one of only six remaining drive-ins in the state.
The drive-in announced in April that it was closing. Among the factors was the $70,000 expense needed for the venue to upgrade to digital projection.
The drive-in invited patrons to a free party Sept. 27 for a showing of the sing-a-long version of "Grease," the Pioneer Press reported.
A Walmart store will be built on the site of old drive-in.
KARE-TV talked with some of the patrons at the drive-in Friday night and brought cameras inside the lobby.
