A Walmart in Cottage Grove was evacuated Monday after a suspicious package was found in the bathroom.
"The Cottage Grove Walmart has been evacuated due to a suspicious package left in one of the bathrooms. There is NOT an active shooter," Cottage Grove Mayor Myron Bailey announced just after 4 p.m. Monday.
Bailey said the St. Paul bomb squad was called to the scene – 9300 East Point Douglas Road – and that "no one is taking any chances" after an IED was found in a suspicious package near the post office in Prescott, Wisconsin on Sunday.
Bailey announced an "all clear" around 7 p.m. Monday, noting that Walmart would be open under normal business hours on Tuesday.
No further information has been released and the case remains under investigation.
