Coupon fanatic stretches $38 to $3,000, gives items to charity
WCCO has the story of frugal University of Minnesota student Lindsay Gorelick, who has been clipping coupons for more than a year and a half to make ends meet.
Now Gorelick, who combs through Sunday newspapers and neatly organizes her coupons in a binder, is using them to help others, WCCO reports. She recently spent $38 to collect $3,000 worth of lotion, deodorant, shampoo and other goods, which she and her friends packed into 40 bags and gave away to the Harriet Tubman Center, which helps families in crisis with shelter, counseling and other services, WCCO reported.
“Even though I’m a college student on a really tight budget, and don’t have a lot of money, I can do something to help somebody else,” she said. Check out WCCO's story:
