Crash leaves 1 dead, 4 injured in Lac qui Parle County

The crash happened Saturday just before 8:30 p.m.

A two-vehicle crash Saturday night resulted in the death of one person and four others suffering injuries.

The Lac qui Parle County Sheriff's Office reports that the accident happened at County Road 59 and County Road 24 just before 8:30 p.m. The two vehicles were carrying a total of five people.

First responders used the Jaws of Life to extricate one person with life-threatening injuries from a vehicle. That person was then airlifted by Life Link to Hennepin County Medical Center but did not survive their injuries.

Four others were taken to Madison Hospital with unknown injuries.

The identities of those involved have not been released and the crash remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.

County roads 59 and 24 meet just north of Madison, which is about 155 miles straight west from Minneapolis.
