The finals of the Red Bull Crashed Ice competition brought an estimated 140,000 people to downtown St. Paul Saturday night. Organizers of the event released the crowd estimate Saturday evening, KSTP reports.

The competition, now in its fourth year in St. Paul, featured athletes skating down a treacherous ice-covered track in timed races. This year's Crashed Ice also included a women's competition for the first time. Winners move on to the next round of competition.

You can find complete results of the competition at the Crashed Ice website.

The weather cooperated for spectators, with temperatures in the mid-30s in the Twin Cities Saturday evening, although some snow is expected to move in later in the night and Sunday.

After the competition ended, the Red Bull Crashed Ice organizers hosted a party on West 7th Street, just south of the Cathedral grounds, which goes until 2 a.m.

Between the Crashed Ice races and the Winter Carnival activities, St. Paul was the place to be Saturday. Visitors enjoyed checking out the Winter Carnival's Grande Day Parade, the ice sculptures in Rice Park, and other activities.

Here's a look at some of them.
