Crashes close Twin Cities-area highways Monday morning
It's an ugly morning on Twin Cities roads Monday after a coating of snow and subzero temperatures have created slippery driving conditions.
A fatal crash on Hwy. 212 has closed traffic in both directions at Kelly Road in Dahlgren Township, according to the Carver County Sheriff's Office. The State Patrol is at the scene and reconstructing the crahs as part of its investigation.
"Roads are also icy all over the metro plan extra time and slow down!" the sheriff's office warned Monday morning.
Meanwhile, a stretch of eastbound Hwy. 10 in Anoka is shut down due to multiple crashes. The highway is closed in the area of Hwy. 169/Hwy. 47 until further notice.
You can see on MnDOT's live traffic map that there are dozens of crashes and spinouts in the metro. This image is from 7:30 a.m.
