An investigation is underway following an altercation at a St. Anthony Cub Foods, where police say a large group of people showed up to confront a store employee on Friday.

Local officers were dispatched to the store at 3930 Silver Lake Rd. at about 5:30 p.m., with a 911 caller reporting that eight males were fighting with the worker.

While officers were en route, they learned that "parties had baseball bats and one male was armed with a handgun," a news release says:

Officers arrived and located the suspect vehicle and executed a "high risk stop" because of the report about firearms.

Police say all of the vehicle's occupants were "temporarily detained in handcuffs," while officers found two replica handguns and "determined that the vehicle involved had altered license plates."

"It was also confirmed that those in the vehicle were there to confront an employee and were involved in the altercation," according to the release. No injuries were reported.

Authorities have not yet released any details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
