Roxie Washington gave impassioned remarks on George Floyd’s death Tuesday, calling for justice for the father of her daughter.

"I want everybody to know that this is what those officers took from me. At the end of the day, they get to go home and be with their families. Gianna does not have a father. He will never see her grow up, graduate, he will never walk her down the aisle,” Washington said. “If there's a problem she's in and she needs a dad, she does not have that anymore.”

Washington spoke alongside her 6-year-old daughter ,Gianna. Washington said Gianna was “proof [Floyd] was a good man.” Gianna also spoke on a video from Bleacher Report.

“Daddy changed the world," she said.

Washington told CNN she struggled to speak with Gianna about Floyd’s death.

"The only thing I could tell her is he couldn't breathe," Washington said.

Floyd's death in Minneapolis police custody was found to be a homicide by two autopsies. The former officer who knelt on Floyd's neck, Derek Chauvin, has been charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

The other three officers involved are still under investigation.

On Wednesday morning, Floyd's family members along with civil rights attorney Ben Crump visited the site of Floyd's death in south Minneapolis to make remarks.

A memorial for George Floyd will take place Thursday at North Central University in Minneapolis from 1-3 p.m., while his funeral is held in Houston.
