Daredevils rappel from St. Paul skyscraper to benefit boy scouts
A fundraiser daring donors to rappel off the top of a the 22-story Ecolab Corporate Center takes place in downtown St. Paul Friday. KSTP-TV reports about 100 people will rappel off the skyscraper to raise money for the Northern Star Council that represents 75,000 boy scouts in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
The Double Dog Dare Challenge requires a donation of at least $1,000 to participate.
The boy scouts hope to bring in $85,000 from the event. WCCO-TV reports that an extreme fundraiser like Double Dog Dare comes with costs of its own. The council hired Over the Edge, a professional rapelling organization, to run the event for $40,000. The scouts hope to come out with close to $45,000.
