Deadly shooting in St. Paul is city's 12th homicide this year

Police in St. Paul are investigating a shooting that left a man dead on Friday night.

It happened around 8 p.m. on the 1000 block of Suburban Ave., a neighborhood east of downtown near Dayton's Bluff.

Following a number of calls reporting gunshots in the area, the victim was found unresponsive on the street and subsequently pronounced dead at the scene, St. Paul Police spokesman said at a press conference early Saturday morning. 

Ernster also said investigators are interviewing multiple witnesses and looking for surveillance footage that could help track the suspect.

The victim has not been identified yet.

This is St. Paul's 12th homicide so far this year.
