Death of infant under investigation in central Minnesota

Authorities in central Minnesota are investigating the death of an infant. 

According to the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office, a person called 911 around 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, to report that a baby was found unresponsive at a residence in Crow Wing Township, south of Brainerd. 

Deputies and North Memorial Ambulance rushed to the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but the infant was pronounced dead after being transported to Essentia Health, St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. 

A cause of death is being investigated by the Crow Wing County investigators and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office. 

More information is expected to be released at a later date.
