Body found after 'suspicious' Winona house fire
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting Winona Police Department in the investigation of a fatal house fire. .
The deadly fire was reported around 3:50 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of East Sanborn St. in Winona.
Upon arrival, firefighters saw flames coming from a window on the east side of the the one-story home.
Within 45 minutes the blaze was contained, but crews discovered a body inside the home.
The person's death has been ruled "suspicious," according to the Rochester Post Bulletin, who spoke with Winona Fire Chief Curt Bittle.
The identity of the victim has not been made public.
