Deer crashes into vehicle's windshield and kills Wisconsin man
An unusual deer-involved crash claimed the life of a Cumberland, Wis., man this past weekend.
The accident occurred Saturday morning on State Highway 70, where a Plymouth, Minn., motorist struck a deer, sending the animal into the air and through the windshield of a truck headed in the opposite direction, KARE 11 reports.
The passenger of that truck, identified as Kurtis Berg, suffered severe head and chest trauma and later died, according to the Washburn County sheriff.
A Facebook update from the sheriff's office indicates the man died on the way to a hospital in Spooner, Wis., while multiple news outlets say he was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.
Though KARE 11 described the accident as "strange," the Green Bay Press Gazette reports a 42-year-old man was killed six weeks ago under shockingly similar circumstances – at the time, the man was driving his wife to the hospital to deliver their eighth child.
