A deputy with the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office suffered numerous injuries and was hospitalized after his squad was struck by a motorist in a stolen vehicle.
The crash happened around 9:45 p.m. on Highway 96 at Round Lake Road in Arden Hills. The deputy suffered a broken kneecap, broken toe, fractured ribs, a bruised lung and possibly a head injury, according to the Ramsey County Deputies' Federation.

The Federation said the deputy was assisting another law enforcement agency when the driver of the stolen vehicle broadsided the squad car, which burned up in a corresponding fire after the crash.
"The stolen vehicle was driven by a repeat offender with a felony warrant for fleeing police in a motor vehicle," the Federation said.
