A detective for Anoka County Sheriff's Office was arrested on Friday after leaving the scene of a rollover crash that put his wife in hospital.
The State Patrol says that the incident happened in the early hours of Friday morning on Hwy. 65 at 187th Lane in East Bethel, when a Jeep Cherokee drifted off the road and rolled.
The driver was identified 45-year-old Patrick O'Hara, of Isanti, who left the scene on foot after the crash.
In doing so, he left behind his injured passenger, identified as his 51-year-old wife, Christine.
She was taken to the University of Minnesota Hospital with serious, but not-life-threatening injuries.
The Star Tribune reports that police caught up with him at the hospital at 7 a.m., and he was booked into jail on suspicion of probable-cause criminal vehicular operation.
It has since been revealed that O'Hara is employed as a detective with the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, with Hometown Source reporting he was commended for outstanding contribution to public safety last year.
