Authorities in east-central Minnesota have located a suspect and vehicle connected to a hit-and-run crash that killed a 20-year-old in December.
According to Mille Lacs Tribal Police Department, Chey A. Garbow Jr. was walking with a friend on Virgo Road near Hwy. 169 on the Mille Lacs Reservation around 1:20 a.m. on Dec. 9 when he was fatally struck by a motorist.
The vehicle that was possibly involved in the incident has been impounded and is being investigated, while the suspect is cooperating with authorities, the police department announced.
The suspect has not been identified, though will be if formal charges are filed.
According to an online obituary, Garbow leaves behind two children, both boys.
Tribal police, the Minnesota State Patrol and Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Office are investigating the hit-and-run death.
