Dinkytown homicide victim identified as teenager

The boy was fatally shot at 11:10 p.m. Monday.

The individual killed in a double shooting in Dinkytown Monday night has been identified as 17-year-old Aries Trayvon Hubbard, of Minneapolis.

Hubbard was identified Wednesday by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office, which says he died of a gunshot wound to the torso. His death has been ruled a homicide.

The shooting happened shortly after 11 p.m. on the 400 block of 13th Avenue Southeast, near the Burrito Loco restaurant, the Minneapolis Police Department said.

Officers arrived and found Hubbard outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at the scene. Another victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Three guns were recovered at the scene. Police say "there is not believed to be any ongoing threat to public safety and the police department is not looking for any additional parties."

The teen's death marked the 17th homicide in Minneapolis this year, according to MPD data
