Billy Diamond Bailey has been linked to the 1993 murder case through a DNA sample. Bailey is currently incarcerated in a federal prison for another crime. After that, he will serve time for yet another murder in 1984 before serving any possible time for the 1993 case.

DNA service helps nab dog poop scofflaws

A DNA laboratory that specializes in dog feces now offers apartment complex managers a way to track down tenants who let dogs do their business in public spaces. The managers collect dog DNA saliva when new tenants move in. If managers later find droppings where they don't belong, they send in the sample for testing to identify the disobedient pet owner. The service has arrived in the Twin Cities.

Fourth meningitis case linked to outbreak confirmed in Minn.

The Minnesota Department of Heath says a fourth case of fungal meningitis has been identified in the state. The patient is a woman in her 70s. Two other Minnesota women, both in their forties, with the infection were released from the hospital last week and are being treated on an outpatient basis.

Trina Langenbrunner's body was discovered off a rural road in southern St. Louis County in September 2000. The 33-year-old was the mother of three. One former investigator said, “It just goes to show that you never give up.”

Kensington runestone linked to finding in Maine

Two authors suggest that the case for the Kensington runestone found in 1898 on a farm near Kensington is bolstered by a newly found "historical connection" to another stone found in Maine several decades later. Many Kensington locals believe their runestone proves that Vikings were in Minnesota long before Christopher Columbus ever sailed, although a number of experts believe the 200-pound slab is a hoax.
