A man killed in a tractor rollover on Friday has been identified as a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources officer.
Kyle Quittschreiber, 26, died when the tractor rolled over on a hill next to his home near Frazee, which is southeast of Detroit Lakes, and pinned him underneath.
The Becker County Sheriff's Office says he was a conservation officer assigned to the Detroit Lakes station, having completed his training to join the DNR in January 2016.
"The Becker County Sheriff's Office extends heartfelt sympathies to the family of MN DNR Officer Kyle Quittschreiber," the office said in a statement.
"Thoughts and prayers are extended to the MN DNR and entire Law Enforcement Family. We lost a fine officer and he will truly be missed."
He was one of 13 conservation officers who completed their DNR training to fill vacant field stations in January 2016, a DNR press release at the time stated.
The Star Tribune notes his duties since then have included the typical fishing and boating enforcement, but also investigating bear baiting, illicit drugs and a helping on a search for a missing child.
