A dog food company is recalling products sold in Minnesota because it may contain salmonella.

California-based OC Raw Dog is voluntarily recalling 2,055 pounds of Turkey & Produce Raw Frozen Canine Formulation because it may be contaminated, the Food and Drug Administration says.

The recalled product was packaged in 6.5-pound Doggie Dozen Patties and 5-pound Bulk Bags with sell-by dates of Oct. 8.

The product was sold through independent pet specialty retailers in Minnesota and three other states – Colorado, Missouri and Pennsylvania, the FDA notes.

No illnesses have been reported.

Salmonella contamination can affect animals eating the food, or humans who handle the contaminated product. People may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping or a fever, while pets could be lethargic, vomit or have diarrhea.

If you have the recalled product, OC Raw Dog asks you submit a picture of the package with the lot number to for verification, and that you return the product to the retailer where you bought it for a full refund or replacement product.
