Don't worry St. Paul, Dunkin' Donuts has plans for the east metro too

After showing the west metro a lot of love, Dunkin' Donuts has promised St. Paul and the east side it won't be left out in the cold.

The popular baked goods and coffee chain announced earlier this week that there are plans to open 10 restaurants in Minneapolis and western suburbs in the works.

But the announcement was met with disappointment in some quarters on the eastern side of the metro area.

Fortunately, the Pioneer Press has been on the case, and has been assured by Dunkin' Donuts that there is every intention to expand the brand to the east metro in the coming years.

Steve Rafferty, director of business development for Dunkin', said they "absolutely have plans to develop throughout the metro, including the east" saying that the brand's return to Minnesota could eventually see 50 restaurants open.

Dunkin’ Donuts left the Minnesota market in 2005, but returned last summer with a location at the Kahler Grand Hotel in Rochester.

The Business Insider reports that Dunkin' has been pursuing an aggressive expansion policy, particularly in international markets, where it attempts to re-brand in every new country it enters.
