Want to help a Minnesota museum make history? Dress up like Buzz Lightyear and say cheese.

The Science Museum of Minnesota is hosting a Pixar costume party on Saturday, July 29. They're asking people to dress up as their favorite character (or wear a Pixar-themed shirt). Then everyone will pose for a group photo.

The museum hopes to create the largest Pixar group photo of all time. A museum spokeswoman told GoMN it's something they believe hasn't been done before.

"We don't know of an existing record for this specific photo. Our research shows us records for people in zombie costumes or superhero costumes, for example, but as far as we can tell, there isn't an official record for Pixar costumes," she said.

GoMN couldn't find an existing record either, so here's your chance to help create one.

The all-ages event will also feature face painting, hands-on activities, and chances to win prizes.

It's happening in the museum's lobby on Saturday, July 29 from noon to 4 p.m., with the group photo being taken at 1 p.m.

The costume party coincides with The Science Behind Pixar, a 12,000-square-foot traveling exhibit inspired by the science and technology behind box office favorites like Toy Story, Inside Out, Monsters Inc., and more.

The exhibit is getting rave reviews so far. Buy your tickets here – it'll only be around until Labor Day. Prices are $28.95 for adults and $22.95 for kids and seniors, although there are discounts for museum members and people with limited incomes.
