Police are investigating a drive-by shooting in Alexandria after several shots were fired at a house.

The shooting happened just before midnight on Friday at the intersection of County Roads 17 and 31 in Hudson Township.

A resident said they heard several gunshots and then heard a vehicle leaving the area at high speed.

When police arrived, they went to a nearby house that they believed was involved in the incident, and found two people inside who told officers someone had "just shot up their house," the Douglas County Sheriff's Office reports.

They found one 9mm shell casing on County Road 17, and when they returned on Sunday during daylight hours, found 3 more shell casings and six bullet holes in the garage and house.
