Driver, 19, killed in collision with street sweeper
A 19-year-old driver was killed in a collision with a street sweeper in northwestern Minnesota Thursday evening.
The incident happened on U.S. 75 near 460th Street Southwest in Polk County, near Thief River Falls, at around 9:50 p.m.
A Chrysler PT Cruiser traveling south crossed the center line and collided head-on with the street sweeper that was heading north.
The street sweeper crashed into the east ditch, with the PT Cruiser coming to rest on the roadway.
The driver of the PT Cruiser was ejected from the vehicle, and died at the scene.
She has been identified as 19-year-old Jayden Anderson, of Ada, Minnesota.
The driver of the street sweeper, a 41-year-old man from Wahpeton, North Dakota, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The Minnesota State Patrol says Anderson was wearing a seatbelt.
