Driver, 26, dies in crash on I-94 near the Minneapolis North Loop
A 26-year-old motorist died in a single-vehicle crash in Minneapolis late Monday night.
The State Patrol says a Minneapolis man, identified as Shivnarine Samogan, was traveling north on Interstate 94 in a Mitsubishi Outlander when he lost control near Olson Memorial Highway around 11:30 p.m.
He swerved across all lanes of traffic before leaving the roadway on the east side, at that point striking a light pole and coming to a stop against a power pole.
Samogan was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash report says Samogan was not wearing a seat belt and that alcohol was detected.
