A 30-year-old motorist died in a single-vehicle crash in southern Minnesota Thursday morning.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Jama Omar Isse, of Rochester, was driving a 2015 Dodge Caravan south on Hwy. 56 when he entered the ditch and rolled near 170th Ave. in Wasioja Township around 8:50 a.m.
Isse, per the State Patrol, was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers in the van and no others vehicles were involved.
Road conditions were wet at the time of the crash, the State Patrol said.
There have been 94 deaths on Minnesota roads so far in 2020, which, despite significantly fewer motorists out and about because of the coronavirus pandemic, is only four fewer than there were at the same point in 2019, according to the Office of Traffic Safety.
