Driver dies after pickup skids off the road in western Minnesota

The crash happened in Big Stone County.

Authorities are investigating a fatal crash in western Minnesota that claimed the live of a 68-year-old man on Friday. 

The single-vehicle crash happened just after 2:30 p.m. on Hwy. 12 at County Road 17 in Ortonville Township, with the Minnesota State Patrol reporting that a 1997 Chevrolet pickup traveling west on the highway skidded sideways and rolled down an embankment. 

Killed in the crash was a 68-year-old Ortonville man who was driving the pickup. His name has not been released. 

The State Patrol says the man was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
