A single-vehicle wreck was fatal for the driver and caused a massive disruption to northbound traffic on Interstate 35W in the north metro on Monday afternoon.
The crash happened around 2:55 p.m. when a 34-year-old man from Shafer, Minnesota, lost control of the Nissan Frontier he was driving.
The State Patrol says he was in the left lane of northbound I-35W near County Road 23 in Lino Lakes when he veered to the right and hit a bridge embankment, causing the vehicle to go airborne before rolling, landing on its roof, rolling again in the ditch and coming to a rest on its wheels.
The 34-year-old, identified as Lawrence Paul Fuller, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The interstate was reopened hours after the crash.
