A driver was taken to a hospital with injuries after crashing into a commercial building in downtown Anoka on Tuesday.

The crash happened around 9:40 a.m., with an SUV causing extensive damage to the building at 2040 Ferry Street.

The address is listed as the home of cleaning company Leone's Building Service.

The SUV stuck the northern entrance of the building, causing the shutdown of the outside lane of northbound US 169 Ferry Street for several hours.

At this stage it's not clear how the SUV driver came to crash. The building is on a T-junction, with Webster Street opposite.
