Driver killed in rollover crash to north of Twin Cities

The vehicle left the road and rolled near Nowthen.

A driver was killed in the northern Twin Cities metro when they lost control of their vehicle and rolled on Tuesday evening.

The crash was reported at 7:13 p.m. on Old Viking Boulevard NW at West Fordbrook Drive NW in the city of Nowthen, Anoka County.

Responders arrived at the scene to find the driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, severely injured. 

Lifesaving efforts were attempted, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation found the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Old Viking Blvd. when it left the road and overturned.

The crash remains under investigation by the State Patrol and Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

No details about the victim have been released.
